Encephalon - The Transhuman Condition

The album is finally out in North America! Matt and I ended up collaborating on the cover art and I love the result! It's quite a bit different from what I started out with (when I had no idea what I was doing in Illustrator or Photoshop) but I'm very pleased with how abstract it turned out. We also collaborated musically on track 5, The Killing Horizon.
I joined Encephalon two years ago, originally for live back up vocals and guitar. The song Rise contains haunting choir samples that I very much wanted to work with.. I love singing anything that's intense. Coincidentally many years ago I was in a metal band and performed another song called Rise. Headbanging in tall heels is something that should be practiced before going crazy on stage! >_<

In Memory of Jennx Medusa Proulx

Jenn was taken from us far too soon this August. I had met her a few times, but never got the chance to really get to know her. Her beauty and edgy style inspired many different kinds of artists, for she was as close to a real life Tank Girl as anyone could get!
This was drawn for a tattoo design for a friend who loved her very much.
Rest in peace Jenn <3

Suspended Sleep

I've been working on this for quite awhile. The first concept came when I was a kid and read a ghost story about a girl who was buried under a tree. The roots ended up growing around her coffin and embracing it so that her spirit lived through the wood. One night, lighting struck the tree, knocking off its largest branch. A man found the branch and used it to carve a rocking horse for his young daughter, which of course resulted in some haunting.

Victorian Girl

I think her name should be Cordelia.

July is almost over? How time does fly. I'd better post what I've been working on in the past months!

Geisha rage

First drawing inked and coloured entirely in Illustrator! I love Geisha and this was kind of inspired by this clip from Yokiro.

I'm not sure if I like the one with the outlandish colours or the desaturated version.
